April Ministry Update

Hi everyone!

it's been a while since I've gotten to update you all, and I wanted to start off with some exciting news! Now that I'm nearing the end of my pastoral apprenticeship with FOCUS, they've offered me to join their senior staff for the next two years! On top of that, I'll get to stay at UTD! I am blown away at all God has done this school year, and I can't wait to see what He has in store for the next two years. If you're currently on my support team and would like to continue supporting me, feel free to reach out and let me know! In the next couple weeks I'll be reaching out and touching base with each of you to see what that will look like for you! Thank you all SO much for making this year of campus missions possible. God has taught me so much and has gifted me with so many new, vibrant friendships students on campus. I've been so blessed to have been able to do campus ministry this year and make and mature disciples at UTD.

Washington Missions Week!

Last month, we had students and staff with one of the ministries we partner with come fly down from Washington to spend their spring break doing campus missions at UTD. Every year they send a group of students who want to spend their spring break doing campus ministry on our campus, and every summer we send a group of students over to them to learn about campus ministry! We love our friends in Bellingham, Washington, and I'm so excited for our students to get to go to SICM (student institute of campus ministry) there for the first time in two years!!

Here's the group we hosted from Washington! The Collin ministry got to host the other group.

Speaking of SICM, here's one of our core girls, Katie, who got invited to go this year!

Pizza Theology

Last month, we had a Pizza Theology on a biblical view of our bodies. Pizza Theo is a theological sermon we put on once a semester and invite all the campuses to. It was incredibly informative as well as pastoral in helping us think through gender issues, sexual orientation, and abortion. It affirmed a biblical view of these things, and that God's view of the body is actually a high view of the body. Society tends to think that Christian values are restrictive and therefore attribute to a low valuing of our bodies, when in reality, such restrictions are given because we are to have a high value of our bodies, respecting our bodies the way our Creator intended. I think this was so incredibly helpful to our community as our students wrestle with what the broader culture says is okay, versus what is biblical and pleasing to God. I'm so thankful to be working with a team of pastors who work hard to learn about and teach such things.

Sprint to the End

The end of the school year is approaching so quickly! I can't believe it's gone by so fast, and I'm blown away by all that God has done in such a short amount of time. I'm amazed that this is my job and that I get to pour into the lives of college students every day. Please pray for both staff and students to finish out the school year well!

A combined core we had with another group that meets on Monday nights (: It was so sweet!

Thanks for reading my update! Love ya'll!
